Accompanying Persons
Your Accompanying Person(s) are welcome to attend conference lunches at the hotel, all dinners and the excursion provided you book an accompanying persons package PRIOR to the meeting at the time of your registration.
We STRONGLY recommend you take out this package if you wish your accompanying person to spend any time with you as there is a function EVERY evening AND an almost full day excursion. Also, unless you are fluent in the local language, Xiamen is a difficult city for foreigners so our organised evenings and excursion are a good way to experience Xiamen. Lunch is also included for those who wish to take lunch in the hotel. Please note, you will NOT be able to book these onsite!

Evening Events
23rd September - The Welcome Reception
You will enjoy local delicacies and drinks on the hotel lawn by the seaside at our Chinese BBQ on Asahi bay.
24th September - Dinner on Old Fashined Chinese Boats
Tonight we dine on the water on two old fashioned Chinese boats as we cruise Xiamen by night, seeing the wonderful display of coloured lights. During the evening we will be entertained by a traditional Chinese puppet show.
25th September - Dinner at Xiamen University
Xiamen University is one of the most beautiful campuses in the world. Tonight we shall enjoy a wonderful Chinese dinner on campus where we will also have a chance to meet some staff and students.
26th September - The Conference Gala Dinner
Powelong Hotel Ballroom. A fabulous seafood feast will be accompanied by traditional Chinese entertainment; music, "changing faces" show and acrobats.
Excursion
The Mutation Detection Meetings have a tradition of providing an enjoyable excursion that provide excellent networking opportunities and are a lot of fun. This year the activity scheduled for September 25th includes the best of Xiamen.
Your registration fee includes a trip to Gulangu island with guided tours of Sunlight rock and Shuzhuang garden, lunch on Gulangu island and some free time to explore the island and its small shops. After leaving the island you will be taken to Nanputuo Temple, a beautiful thousand year old Buddhist temple, on of the most beautiful in China. We then walk together to Xiamen University and have some time to explore the magnificent campus, said to be one of the most beautiful university campuses in the world. Dinner will be held at the University on this evening.
